Speed limit change to 80km/h
Edmonton to Yarrabah Road (Warner Road)

Motorists are advised of a permanent change to the speed limit on the Bruce Highway between Yarrabah Road intersection (Warner Road) and Edmonton.

The change has come about as a result of a recent speed limit review. Lowering the regulatory speed limit from 100km/h to 80km/h is aimed at improving safety for all road users and to balance the needs of the community.

The department consulted with the Cairns Traffic Advisory Committee, Queensland Police Services and the Cairns Regional council about this recommended change.

Signage is expected to be installed late September 2009. Once installed, the new speed limit will then be enforceable.
