The region covers the Townsville city council, Charters Towers regional council, Burdekin and Hinchinbrook shire councils and Palm Island Aboriginal shire council. The region is serviced by the Main Roads Townsville office.
The region's boundaries extend from Ayr to Ingham along the coast and west past Pentland and Greenvale.
